QUALISUD
General objective:
To develop an integrated approach to the production and preservation of food products with optimal organoleptic, safety and nutritional qualities.
The Research Unit QUALISUD was created on January 1st, 2007, with researchers from CIRAD, University of Montpellier II, University of Montpellier I and Montpellier SupAgro.
The works carried aim at a better understand of quality and the importance of each of its components throughout the production, transformation and distribution chain, through an integrated approach that insures complete control of the relationship between product and process.
The goal is to increase the diversity, quantity and quality of available food products, principally in Southern markets, and to enable producers and processors to export to Northern markets, where quality standards are extremely demanding.
For these reasons the Research Unit works closely on the relationships between product and process.
